Dress Code & Etiquette

Alsager is a friendly club, always keen to provide a warm welcome to guests and new members. Our codes for dress and conduct reflect this whilst ensuring the Club’s standards are maintained at an appropriate level.

With this in mind, our basic principle is respect for members and guests, the course, the clubhouse and the local community.

In The Clubhouse

Dress code is simple: smart but casual dress in and around the club house. Hats should not be worn in the club house, except for social or formal occasions. There may be more formal dress codes for specific events such as presentation evenings and dinners. The dress code for such events will be advertised in the appropriate notices and e-mails.

On The Golf Course

On the course smart golf clothes should be worn, shirts must have collars and be tucked in. Smart trousers, skirts or shorts are acceptable. Jeans, tee shirts or football shirts are not permitted. All golfers should wear specialist golf shoes. Golfers should avoid bringing golfing equipment through the club house, unless this is unavoidable.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are allowed in the club house, but should be used with regard to other members and guests wishing to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing environment. It is recommended that all calls are made and received in the lobby areas where possible. On the course mobile phones are allowed for emergency use, and should be used with due regard to playing partners and other users of the course.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the club house, this applies to all types of smoking including electronic, or other similar smoking devices. Members and guests are requested to use the designated smoking area at the rear of the building rather than congregating at the entrance to the clubhouse.

Conduct

We expect members and guests to give due regard to others members, guests and staff in their conduct around the club house and on the course. Foul and abusive language will not be accepted.
It is the responsibility of members and organisers of private function using the facilities of the golf club to adhere to these codes, and to see that they are upheld by other members or guests.

Breach Of The Codes

Any serious breach of these codes should be referred initially to any of the club officials.
